|Summary||0000932: How to deploy Graphviz on a hosted site|
I use Mantis bug tracking application.
Graphvis works fine on my testbed wher it was installed from an RPM package.
The approach on the hosted site is to build from source and as such
place the usr/bin directory under my domains home directory.
All my attempts for doing this have failled mostly due to additional packages like TCL TK etc.
Mantis uses DOT and NEATO and allows me to set up the required paths to the binaries and to the fonts.
Is it possible to take the working binaries from my system and somehow
alter them to reflect the hosted site locations (paths, fonts etc etc)
I'm not sure if I fully understand the question. Are you just trying to relocate the "dot" and "neato"
binaries, or are you asking about "webdot" ?
I think the graphviz-2.2.1 binaries probably just need an LD_LIBRARY_PATH so that
they can find the relocated $(prefix)/lib/graphviz/*.so
With graphviz-2.4 this won't work because the library path is hardcoded into the executable so that
it can find $(prefix)/lib/graphviz/config which tells it about the available plugins.
I might be able to fix this so that it looks in ../../lib/graphviz/ relative to the directory containing the binary.
(The trick uses the full path of the binary from /proc/$$/maps and so it will only work on linux.)
