|Summary||0000890: -lgd needed in lib/gd/Makefile|
I downloaded today's snapshot and tried to build it using cygwin.
In doing so, I ran into an linker message for annotate.c indicating
that _gdImageCreateFromJpeg, etc. were undefined. After a bit
of hacking, I found that manually adding -lgd to several of the
*LIB environment vars in lib/gd/Makefile fixed the problem. I added
it to any of the library lists that looked like they might remotely
be related to something graphical.
It would sure be nice if the massively-inefficient configure script
could add the gd linking options at the right times.
[ellson] Did you ./configure --with-mylibgd ?
Does libtool work on cygwin? Makefile.am contains LDADD=./libgvgd.la
which should cause -lgvgd to be added.
If you configured without --with_mylibgd then you are not intended to build anything
from lib/gd directory. Instead you are expected to install gd separately.
I've not used Cywin to build graphviz. I'd be interested in a report on what you needed to
do to get it to build.
