PlatformOSx86-Linux-debian unstableOS Version
Summary0000662: dotty box color SVG
Description

<CD>
dotty version 96c (09-24-96)
lefty version 10 Mar 2005
graphviz version 2.8 (Fri Dec 8 11:26:38 UTC 2006)
debian unstable, package version:
ii graphviz 2.8-2.6 rich set of graph drawing tools
</CD>

Program: dotty

The dotty display from a dot file generated with calltree, draws
black text on a black background. If I change from
<CD>
   node [style=filled]
</CD>
To:
<CD>
   node [style=filled,color="slate_blue"]
</CD>
then it looks ok on screen but the SVG output from dot is displayed as
black on black. So, I needed to do something like this for SVG.
<CD>
   node [style=filled,color="#0000FF"]
</CD>
Btw, white doesn't work, either - no box outline is drawn (which I can
probably fix by changing style.
Steps To Reproduce

digraph function_map {
rankdir=LR;
ratio=fill;
node [style=filled,color="#0000FF"]
 exclPrefixPush [ shape=box ];
 profPush [ shape=box ];
 skipPredicate [ shape=box ];
skipPredicate -> skipPredicate;
}
Additional Information

[erg]
There are several things going on here.

First, there is the problem that filled nodes appear black in dotty. That's a bug and it has now been fixed.
You can fix it on your machine by editing dotty.lefty in the lib/lefty directory where graphviz is installed.
Just insert the line

                'fillcolor' = 'lightgray';

around line 87.

Second, using color="slate_blue" happens to work in dotty because the X server apparently accepts this.
At present, this name isn't supported in dot; you need to use "slateblue". (See

  http://www.graphviz.org/doc/info/colors.html [^]
)
Since dot doesn't recognize this, it uses black instead. More recent versions of Graphviz report a warning here.

Finally, I don't understand what you mean by "white doesn't work, either". If you can send me a sample input and
the output you get, I'll follow up on this.
