|Summary||0000546: Cant run in Win98|
I've tried installing Graphviz on 2 different PC running Windows 98, and "Do Layout" leads to the following error:
CreateFile failed for stderr. Error 87(120000)
Command: "C:\PROGRA~ATT\Graphviz\bin\dot.exe" -Tipg -o
...following by the input file path and output file path.
An error tmp file is then generated.
|Steps To Reproduce|
main -> parse
main -> Execute
[rpkellig] I was able to run dot.exe successfully from
the command line, so it does look like a GVUI problem.
The error dialog appears after pressing "Do Layout".
Here's the full error message from the GVUI:
CreateFile failed for stderr. Error: 87(12000)
Command: "C:\PROGRA~1\ATT\Graphviz\bin\dot.exe" -Tjpg
I added no additional properties. I've tried it for
several different input graphs, output formats, etc.
The same message appears every time.
[jora] The best thing would be to suggest an OS upgrade ... 98 is already an old thing, I don't even know where to find a machine running it.
[[rpkellig] Thanks again for trying to help. I know I'm in the
dark ages with Win98, just trying to squeeze some
extra mileage out of old machines. Anyways, Graphviz
works fine from the command line, which is good enough
