|Platform||OS||x86-Windows-2K (no service packs||OS Version|
|Summary||0000508: Failure on very large network graph|
Graph with about 17K nodes and 22K edges creates a 5,895K gif file
after about 20 or 30 minutes of processing. The file is reported
as bad format from corel photopaint and from microsoft photoviewer.
I tried to generate a jpg of the same network and when dot.exe was
trying to allocate the pallette (~115000K colors reported) it
crashes with system error message (which I forgot to write down,
I'll run it again to get the exact error message).
What can be done other than reducing the size of the graph?
The trace for -Tjpg is \<A HREF=b558.txt\>jpg trace\</A\>.
[erg] The user will not submit an input or output file, so there
is not much we can do. The best guess, given the trace and the
allocation of 147799K bytes for the image, is that he is running
out of memory. Unfortunately, libgd does not report this.
