|Summary||0000494: Colons missing between node and endpoint IDs in -Tplain-ext output|
Somewhere between v1.14 and v1.16 of Graphviz, Dot stopped putting
a colon in between the node ID and endpoint ID in the edge output
lines. So, an edge output line that looks like this in Dot 1.14:
edge elt0:elt2 elt117:elt118 4 16.972 4.000 17.361 4.236 17.764 4.486 18.056 4.653 elt149 17.958 4.361 solid black
Looks like this in Dot 1.16 and up (I used the nightly 1.17 build
as of Sep 30, 2004 and experienced the same problem):
edge elt0elt2 elt117elt118 4 16.972 4.000 17.361 4.236 17.764 4.486 18.056 4.653 elt149 17.958 4.361 solid black
I tested on Dot 1.10, 1.12, 1.14, 1.16, and 1.17 nightly as of 9/30/2004.
The colons are missing in 1.16 and the 1.17 nightly but not any
earlier version I tested. All these were tested on the same machine,
a Windows XP PC running XP SP2.
The command line used to generate the output was:
dot -Tplain-ext -y dotinput.txt > dotoutput.txt
The lack of colons makes my dot output parsing code fail unless I put
in a workaround.

I was able to workaround this because I have lots of control over my
element IDs, and such I can just look for the second 'e' in 'elt' if
the colon is missing, but others may have trouble.
