Summary0002477: Settings and Layout Tools don't usually work
DescriptionIn the settings dialog, the drop-down box to enter the Name of the parameter to modify does not work. Clicking in the box just turns it black. This does not happen all the time, but most of the time, and makes the program much less usable. Also, sometimes pressing the OK button does nothing but close the dialog, no image file of the graph saved. Sometimes, doing layout with neato, then switching back to dot, will restore the ability to generate the image file. This may be an interaction between this program and another, but I've not been able to see a pattern. Strangely, when the cursor is in the Value box, pressing Enter gives a dialog to save the file!

How are you starting gvedit? Double-clicking, using the start menu, or invoking it from a dos shell?

For Windows, gvedit was written assuming you would be starting it by double clicking or using the start menu. It used a relative pathname for the file containing the list of attributes, so if you started it from the shell, say, it can't open the file. At least, I believe this is what is happening. It has now been fixed to find the attribute file no matter how it is invoked.

I don't know what to say about clicking the OK button and nothing happening. I cannot reproduce this behavior. If you can find some consistent way to make this happen, I can try to look into it.
