|0001810||graphviz||Dot||public||2010-02-05 05:14||2011-04-28 04:03|
|Platform||OS||x86-Linux-Fedora 8||OS Version|
|Summary||0001810: Dotty fails to render graph|
The output of dotty explains why I posted this bug report:
dotty.lefty: giving up on dot
dotty.lefty: graph that causes dot
dotty.lefty: to fail has been saved in file dottybug.dot
dotty.lefty: please fill out a bug report at
dotty.lefty: http://www.graphviz.org/bugs/bugform.html [^]
If you run dot on this file, you'll see you have labels that are quite long
and contain unescaped line breaks. Either you need to escape these
line breaks, or generate the labels using the HTML-like syntax that is
tolerant of newlines.
I must point out that graphviz-2.14.1 is really old, and in fact, Fedora-8 is past end-of-life
and no-longer supported by Fedora/Redhat. Since any bug fixes that result from a bug report would require
you to update anyway, to get the fix, it makes more sense if you would do an update first to see if the bug still exists before
reporting a bug.
The current stable release is graphviz-2.26.3, available from: http://www.graphviz.org/ [^]
There is a crash during spline routing. make_regular_edge had 2 fixed-size arrays
with no bounds checking.
Note, there is something about the layout that causes edge routing to go of the wall.
It does finish, but it takes a LONG time.
