Summary0001710: Image affects edge coloring

When I put a img tag in a node, the colored edge will not work. If I
keep remove img tags, the color comes back on edges.

Here are two simple scripts,

W/ colored edge (see \<A HREF="b1763a.gif"\>right.gif\</A\>.
digraph G {
n0 [shape=none, label=<<table><tr><td>1</td></tr></table>>]
n1_1 [shape=none, label=<<table><tr><td>2</td></tr></table>>]

n0 -> n1_1[penwidth="3", color="red"];

W/O colored edge (see wrong.gif):

digraph G {
n0 [shape=none, label=<<table><tr><td><img
n1_1 [shape=none, label=<<table><tr><td>2</td></tr></table>>]

n0 -> n1_1[penwidth="3", color="red"];

I need image nodes and colored edges at the same time. What can I do?
Any suggestions? Thanks much!

btw, two screen shots were attached (produced from dot 2.24, linux version).
Additional Information

But on the problem reported by Ryan, using latest CVS snapshot, these two:
    $dot -Tgif:gd bxxx_gif.gv | xv -
    $dot -Tpng:gd bxxx_gif | xv -

both exhibit the corrupted edge color as he described. This implicates the GD renderer as the likely cause.

Changing the image to png format and using cairo support produces correct output.

    $dot -Tgif bxxx_png | xv -
    $dot -Tpng bxxx_png | xv -

Workaround: don't use GIF images.
