Summary0001354: Left-align different between equally sized nodes

Using left-align on a row of nodes with an identical width attribute
generates a jagged left edge, i.e. the alignments are not identical.
I've tried to fix it by padding with spaces to identical string lengths,
but this didn't work. I've tried this on both Windows and Linux.
Steps To Reproduce

digraph {
    rankdir = LR;
    node1 [label = "\n\n\n\n\n\nTijd", image="/home/mypath/www/myname/use_cases/alarm_clock_3_small.gif", shape="none", width = 0.8];
    node2 [label = " TS77: Verzenden foomails \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node2:w;
    node3 [label = " TS78: Genereren RSS-feeds \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node3:w;
    node4 [label = " TS79: Verzenden barmails \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node4:w;
    node5 [label = " TS80: Verzenden quxmails \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node5:w;
    node6 [label = " TS81: Verzenden mail \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node6:w;
    node7 [label = " Test \l", width = 4.7, shape=ellipse];
    node1 -> node7:w;
Additional Information

[vincent] this morning I reported a problem with consistently left-aligning node labels using dot 2.20 (submitter e-mail [email protected]). Oddly enough, the aligning does work in dot 2.8 installed with apt-get. I can't use that version, however, as it doesn't appear to render images on nodes ('image' attribute).
