Summary0001011: error compiling graphviz
Description

 I am trying to install graphviz-2.6 on SunOS 5.9

After running configure ( as ./configure ) ,

when i run "make",

i get the following error...
<CD>

</CD>

i have /usr/ccs/bin added to the PATH variable as the build notes suggest.

Is this because of dependency on any package?

Thanks
karthik
Additional Information

[karthik] I had submitted a bug report ( No: 832 ). I have since found the solution to my problem. For some reason, though i added /usr/ccs/bin to my PATH variable, it was not being detected by the script. Once i logged out and re-ran the script, it was all fine.

But now i see a new problem after installing graphviz. I get messages saying "Error: /usr/local/lib/graphviz/config is zero sized, or other read error."

I noticed some resolutions indicating that a run of "dot -V" as root would solve the problem. But in my case , i continue to have the same error.

bash-2.05$ dot -V
Error: /usr/local/lib/graphviz/config is zero sized, or other read error.
dot version 2.6 (Fri Dec 2 14:46:31 GMT 2005)

I was running configure as follows :
./configure --enable-shared=no --enable-static=yes

Any idea what is causing this problem or any other suggestion on overcoming the zero size config error would be appreciated.

NOTE: The install of graphviz went through perfectly fine . Its after the install that i am facing this error.

This was changed to "dot -c" I think in graphviz-2.6. It should be run automatically when you do "make install"

If "dot -c" doesn't work, then I suggest you grab today's graphviz-2.7..... snapshot and try that.

Using ls, can you tell me if /usr/local/lib/graphviz/config exists with zero size, or doesn't exist at all? If it exists
does it have read permissions sufficient for your userid?

Try running "dot -c" as root (or with sufficient priviledge to write /usr/local/lib/graphviz/config

If that doesn't work, try removing /usr/local/lib/graphviz/config altogether.

I think this problem is related to --enable-shared=no --enable-static=yes. Is there some reason for not using shared libraries?
