# how to link graphviz with visual c++

i would like to know the steps if it is possible

### Take a look at the project

Take a look at the project file at http://www.graphviz.org/dot.demo/demo.vcproj. It assumes you have installed Graphviz in C:\Program Files\Graphviz2.34, so it looks for include files in C:\Program Files\Graphviz2.34\include\graphviz. For linking, it needs  gvc.lib cgraph.lib cdt.lib, which are in C:\Program Files\Graphviz2.34\lib\release\lib. So, you just need to replace C:\Program Files\Graphviz2.34 with the place where you have installed Graphviz on your machine.

### new problem

Thanks for the answer, the samples code compiles, the new problem is when it is executed, the first sample show a message about an exception ntdll.dll and the second sample says in the results that the PDB file can´t be open. thanks for the reply in advance.

### Can you post the first and

Can you post the first and second samples you are talking about, or point me to them? Thanks. Doing a bit more exploring, it seems the ntdll.dll is a system dll that may appear due to something like a memory fault.

### Doing a quick search, the PDB

Doing a quick search, the PDB file is Windows' program database file. This sounds like the system is trying to find debugging info for the crash and can't find the relevant file. As for ntdll.dll, this appears to be a generic problem that arises on WIndows. See http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/a/ntdlldll.htm

or google ntdll.dll for more  info.

### I have no idea what is going

I have no idea what is going on. The sample programs and the provided dll's contain no reference to ntdll.dll or a PDB file, whatever that is. Where are these coming from?

My issue seems to be exactly the same as this one...
