generating an X,Y graph with Graphviz

Hi,
I am new to Graphviz.
I would like to replace Excel graphs with Graphviz.
I am using Excel to generate a line and charts simple graphs usually combine of Date and Time on the X axis and Value on the Y axis.
My input files are text tables files which are an output from a Unix ksh.
I know that I will need to convert those text to DOT with Perl or Awk but would like to have a simple example to start working with.
A text file example will look like:
Date Time CPU
12/25/2014 08:00 20
12/25/2014 08:01 30
.
.
.
.
12/31/2014 23:59 100

and I would like to have a CPU graph on dates and by time.
TX Much,
New

Based on your description, I

Based on your description, I don't think Graphviz is the package you want. It sounds more like you want to draw statistical graphs, not combinatorial graphs. Take a look at the drawings at http://www.graphviz.org/Gallery.php and if this is what you are after, let me know and I'll give you some examples. If not, try looking for packages used to plot functions, such as those described at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_information_graphics_software.

Based on your description and FYI

Erg's gave a great reply. I use gnuplot (part of the list) quite often, take a look
