Example runs long time to produce "dot.exe has stopped working" "...\Graphviz\examples>dot -v -Tsvg 4elt.gv -o graph1.svg "

I have just installed Graphviz 2.38 for Windows.

I tried running an example to see if things work.

dot -v -Tsvg 4elt.gv -o graph1.svg

I have also tried this with "ps" flag, and "jpg" flag with same results: DOT seems to take long time -- to produce a Windows message

"dot.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly."

Here is the -v output:

C:\Apps\Graphviz\examples>dot -v -Tsvg 4elt.gv -o graph1.svg

"Dot.exe has stopped working" more information:

I got an "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in dot.exe[12352]."

Re: "Dot.exe has stopped working" more information

Sorry for the problem you encountered.  Probably your graph is too large for
dot, at least with the amount of memory you have.  Try "dot -V" for more
details.  Try "sfdp" instead of "dot".  At least separate the layout and final
rendering phases, e.g.  dot -o output.dot; neato -n2 output.dot -Tpdf -o output.pdf
