bidirectional edge: control on single vs double edge line

i'm using 2.38 and dot appears to create a single dual-headed edge arrow connection in the case of two edges defined thus: A->B, B->A.

question: is it possible to create two edges, each with a single-head going in opposite directions?

thanks much

Graphviz should be producing

Graphviz should be producing two separate edges, each with its own arrowhead, unless there is a bug or there is some other constraint in your graph preventing this. Please post a small graph that exhibits the problem. When I try the obvious graph, it works fine for me.
