Title: dot outputs messages even when told to be quiet
Submitter: Emmanuel Pietriga
Date: Wed Oct 31 05:43:28 2007
Subsys: Dot
Version: 2.14
System: *-*-
Severity: minor
Problem:
Even when using the -q flag, dot is not quiet and outputs messages, at least when a font used in the graph is missing on the system.

e.g. I have a dot file (attached) using the Arial MS Unicode font, and it is not present on a WinXP system I use, the following command:

dot -Tsvg -q input.dot -o output.svg

outputs the following message many times:

"Could not find/open font"

This is a problem when calling dot from Java's Runtime.exec() method as these cmd line messages cause the method never to return.
Input:

digraph dotfile {
node [fontname="Arial Unicode MS",fontsize=10,color=black,fillcolor=white,fontcolor=black];
edge [fontname="Arial Unicode MS",fontsize=10,color=black,fontcolor=black];
