Title: Strange edges drawn by dot
Submitter: Don McClimans
Date: Thu Sep 12 19:40:38 2002
Subsys: Dot
Version: 1.8.9
System: x86-Other-Windows 2000 SP2
Severity: minor
Problem:
The attached sample demonstrates three problems:

1) The edge going from the "Bad Arrow" node to the "Common" node has a weird hook in it. This hook actually looks much worse in my original (and larger) dot file, but this smaller file demonstrates the problem.

2) The edge going from Root to Main2 takes a weird path, going out around the "use something" label, which is the label for the edge from Main1 to Main2. Again, this looks worse in my original file, where the edge from Root to Main2 lies almost on top of the edge from Root to Main1.

3) The label "use something" is located too far from the edge it is associated with, which is the edge from Main1 to Main2.

Comments:
I am running the binary distibution for windows, version 1.8.9. These problems also happen under 1.8.6. Running on Windows 2000.
